ZS-High-Dosage Limestone Cement Grinding Aid

1. Product Introduction

What is ZS-High-Dosage Limestone Cement Grinding Aid?

ZS-High-Dosage Limestone Cement Grinding Aid is a liquid chemical admixture specifically designed for cement with high limestone content. Its core functions are to aid grinding and increase production, activate limestone activity, increase the proportion of limestone in cement, reduce clinker consumption, improve cement strength, and lower carbon emissions. With this product, limestone content in cement can reach up to 25%.

How Does It Work?

Optimized Formulation: By optimizing the ratio of alkanolamines and polysaccharides with special admixtures, the product enhances the uniform dispersion of limestone in cement.

Particle Dispersion: Neutralizes static charges on cement particle surfaces during grinding, preventing agglomeration and reducing the "cushioning effect" inside the mill.

Grinding Efficiency: By keeping particles separated, it allows the grinding media to work directly on the clinker, reducing energy consumption per ton.

Strength Activation: The active components chemically interact with cement phases (C₃S, C₂S), promoting more complete hydration and contributing to both early and late strength development.

Particle Composition Optimization: Optimizes the particle composition of clinker, increasing the proportion of 3-32µm particles for improved strength development.

5. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How is the optimal dosage determined?

A: The recommended range is 500g – 1000g per ton of cement. Exact dosage depends on clinker grindability, mill type, target fineness, and limestone characteristics. Our technical team can assist with mill trials to find your economic optimum.

Q: Does this product contain chlorides?

A: No. Chloride content is ≤ 0.1%, making it safe for reinforced concrete applications where corrosion risk must be minimized.

Q: How should the product be stored?

A: It is a weakly alkaline liquid. Store in a sealed plastic container at temperatures between -5℃ and 40℃. Shelf life: 12 months.

Q: What are the main components?

A: The product is mainly composed of organic surfactants, polyols, sugars, and alkanolamines, with a small amount of inorganic salts. It is dark brown, opaque, odorless, and does not harm human health or cement concrete properties.

Q: What is the maximum limestone content achievable with this product?

A: With optimized formulation and mill conditions, limestone content in cement can reach up to 25%, while maintaining or improving 28-day strength. Real results include a Guangxi plant achieving 25.6% limestone content with stable P.C 32.5 cement quality.

Q: What is the difference between this and the General-Purpose series?

A: The High-Dosage Limestone series is specifically formulated to handle the unique challenges of high limestone content—limestone's poor grindability, tendency to agglomerate, and low reactivity. It provides stronger dispersion and particle composition optimization compared to general-purpose formulas.

6. Application Scope

Application

Benefit

Ball Mill / Vertical Mill Grinding

Improved throughput, lower energy intensity

Early-Strength / Rapid-Hardening Cement

Significantly improved early strength, shortened curing and demolding cycles

High-Volume Limestone Cement

Enhanced particle size distribution for improved workability, up to 25% limestone content

7. Usage Guidelines

Calibration: Install a dedicated metering pump and calibrate it to the target dosage (500g – 1000g/ton of cement). Direct metering can be used when no lift is required; otherwise, a two-stage pumping method is recommended. The addition point should be on the clinker feed belt or at the mill inlet.

Application Point: Apply evenly onto the clinker feed before entering the mill to ensure uniform dispersion.

Monitoring: Track mill amperage, production rate (t/h), cement quality (Blaine, residue), and critically, 28-day compressive strength to quantify performance improvement.

Note: We provide customers with methods for detecting and controlling the feed rate.
